About Chevening Scholarship Scheme
The Chevening Scholarship is funded by the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) and BU. Application and selection is managed by the FCO.
The scholarship is paid as a full tuition fee waiver and as a monthly allowance for other expenses. You need to apply for this scholarship
Eligibility and Requirements
The following eligibility and requirements are provided as a guideline only – please refer to the Chevening Scholarship website for more details.
- Must be an international student applying for a full-time taught Master’s degree at Bournemouth University.
- A citizen of a Chevening-eligible country at the time of application and who intends to return there at the end of the period of study
- Must hold an undergraduate degree that is equivalent to at least an upper-second class Honours degree in the UK
- Have achieved the minimum Chevening English language requirement – minimum IELTS (Academic) 6.5 with minimum 5.5 in each component or equivalent
- Have completed at least two years’ work experience before applying.

Deadline
The deadlines are country specific but applications usually open in August each year and close in November for September entry in the following year.

- For courses starting in September 2024. Scholarships cannot be deferred
- Scholarships are reviewed on a regular basis and the university reserves the right to withdraw, amend or introduce new scholarships at any time.
- Scholarships are offered subject to funding and availability.
